Energist medical group’s world renowned IPL/VPL and laser technology is capable of multiple treatments including skin rejuvenation solutions.
As we age, the effects of prolonged sun exposure, poor diet, pollution and smoking all take their toll on our skin. This is characterised by a thinning of the epidermis and dermis, coarse skin texture, wrinkling, and changes in pigmentation. Collagen and elastin, the tough fibrous proteins present in our skin giving it its texture and elasticity, are damaged and their rate of reproduction slows.
Skin rejuvenation treatments involve the use of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL/VPL) or lasers which stimulate collagen and elastin production deep within the dermis, increasing skin elasticity and strength, making the skin look softer and smoother. This safe, simple technique improves skin texture and colour, whilst reducing pore size, fine lines and wrinkles.
Skin rejuvenation can be performed on the face, neck, décolleté area and on hands, resulting in dramatic improvements in the appearance of the skin.
When it comes to skin rejuvenation treatment, UK Manufacturer Energist offers effective treatment solutions for safe and effective skin rejuvenation using intense pulsed light, laser and plasma technologies. We have been designing and manufacturing lasers for 30 years and IPL systems for 15 years. All of our laser & pulsed light systems, which are used by professionals worldwide, are FDA cleared and pass stringent testing and inspections to be badged as CE marked medical products.
How it works
Fine lines, wrinkles and enlarged pores Collagen and elastin are the substances in our bodies that keep our skin looking youthful and smooth. As we age, our bodies naturally produce less and less collagen and elastin, resulting in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and enlarged pore size.
Energist offer a range of treatment modalities for safe and effective skin rejuvenation.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Variable Pulsed Light (VPL™)
The carefully filtered yellow light emitted from Energist IPL and VPL™ technologies is absorbed by certain structures within the skin. The resultant momentary heating stimulates cells in the body called fibroblasts to produce more collagen. The new collagen moves outwards to the skin’s surface resulting in a smoother texture, smaller pore size and reduced fine lines and wrinkles.
Fractional CO2 Skin Rejuvenation
Skin rejuvenation using Fractional CO2 is a non-invasive laser treatment and involves ablation of tiny micro-thermal zones using pinpoint accuracy. These micro-thermal zones and associated controlled heating of the epidermis and dermis initiate a significant healing response, increasing fibroblast activity to produce collagen and elastin. This skin healing response and associated increased collagen production give the skin a smoother texture, smaller pore size and reduced fine lines and wrinkles. (see more about Fractionated treatments in the ‘Fractionated Skin Treatment Solutions’ tab).
Plasma Skin Regeneration
Plasma is a unique energy source which goes further than rejuvenating the existing skin – it actually stimulates the complete renewal of the skin surface through a process known as Plasma Skin Regeneration (PSR™). (See more about Plasma skin regeneration in the ‘Plasma Skin Regeneration Solutions’ tab).

Pulsed light, laser and plasma systems from Energist are suitable for safe and effective skin rejuvenation treatments. Being at the forefront of each of these technologies Energist has developed advanced systems and protocols to maximise the comfort, speed and effectiveness of the treatment.
UltraPlus VPL – Variable Pulsed Light
UltraPlus is a multi-application system using world renowned and patented Variable Pulsed Light VPL™ technology, only available from Energist Medical Group. This compact and versatile system can safely deliver very high energy at the speed necessary to break up pigmented lesions effectively. With variable pulses, dual filtering and targeted wavelengths, UltraPlus VPL can be used for successful skin rejuvenation on the face, neck, décolleté and hands. Hair removal, sun and age spots, vascular applications, and the treatment of active acne are also possible using UltraPlus.
The ePulse system provides an effective solution for a range treatments including skin rejuvenation. This portable and easy to use system with optional trolley from UK manufacturer Energist Medical Group is designed to provide high flexibility with exceptional performance. Using extended square pulse technology, ePulse offers comfort, speed and versatility for hair removal, skin rejuvenation, pigmentation and acne management.
FRx Fractional CO2 Laser
The FRx system, from Energist Medical Group, is a compact, superfast and highly effective fractionated laser performing a range of treatments including skin rejuvenation, epidermal pigmentation and removal of skin lesions including warts and skin tags.
The FRx is developed by MedArt, the laser specialists within Energist Medical Group who have 30 years’ experience in designing and building lasers, and 20 years’ experience in building CO2 lasers.
NeoGen Plasma System
NeoGen converts nitrogen gas into plasma energy, the fourth state of matter. The plasma emerges from the handpiece in controlled pulses, delivering heating to the skin and stimulating a significant physiological response, whilst leaving the skin intact.
In contrast to laser and light energy sources, NeoGen is allowing the nitrogen plasma energy to impact the skin’s entire architecture. With a wide range of energy settings available, treatments can be tailored to a patient’s specific needs and requirements in regards to healing time.
NeoGen offers a range of treatment options, and delivers the unparalleled results your patients expect for removal of epidermal pigmentation, wrinkles, and improvement in skin laxity, tone, texture and elasticity.

Evaluation of Safety and Efficacy of Variable Pulsed Light (VPL™) in combination with a topical 5-ALA product for the Treatment of Premature Photodamage
Dr. Bonnie Straka, Albermarle Dermatology Associates, Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
Results: Twelve out of twelve participants noticed improvement for their facial photodamage at the conclusion of the study. All participants were seen six months following their final treatment for photographs. When compared with their baseline photographs, 11 of the 12 participants (91%) verbalized that they saw marked improvement in the texture of their skin as well as a significant decrease in their pigmentation variances. One participant in the 3x IPL with ALA category has a history of rosacea and noted a significant decrease in the vascularity of her face as well as a reduction in her flushing. All ALA participants with a history of actinic damage noted improvement in tactile roughness.
